WOW!!!!

Our college’s s/w lab has tis reputation:worst lab in te col! in fact some say tat its te worst lab in te whole city. Wats te problem? There are totally around 40 comps (right from P4 to eniac). And none of them in perfect condition. Some vr not even properly earthed. So v used to work on them with gr8 caution. In fact,by the end of the 5th sem, almost every student in my class had a comp in his room so te visits to the lab vr very minimal. Then in the final year v got internet in our hostel rooms(xcpt for a few unlucky souls in D & E hostels 😉 ). Even then, v frequently used to lament upon the fact that THE dept in the col din even have a proper lab. And vr at the rcvin end of many taunts and snide remarks of our fellow year mates. Then someone in the dept came out with the idea of renovating our lab.Tenders vr floated and ten Faiz from our class was put in charge of all te intricacies involved in buying the computers. And the result?

At 2 in te noon (siesta time 😦 ) Faiz gave me a ring and asked me to help him out. Seems the computers had come and there was no one to check its state. And since i was jobless ten, I decided to help him out. I walked into my lab and presto! I thought i had walked into some scene from the latest sci-fi movie…ever seen the computers used by Ben Affleck in Face -Off..well 40 similar things were there in our lab! I stood there for a while shell shockd at the change that i just witnessed. Faiz came up to me and v ten together set up the comps and checkd whthr they vr in proper condition and met te requirements. There vr 40 new comps and 5 servers with the latest stuff inside tem. Then v called in another frnd and he too was standing at the entrance entranced by the comps. Me and my frnz tho vr slightly disappointed. The reason: no labs next sem 😦 n the lazy bums tat vr, doubt whthr any of us wud turn up in te lab to work there. And there r talks of moving to a new building rite behind our present location which looks gr8!
Then, thanks 2 divya n dino for wishin me luck n all te best 2 u guyz too…algo on thu, ind eco on fri and distributed on sat….ten home sweet home here i come!!!
